LCC Bacolod to mark 91st Foundation day
La Consolacion College-Bacolod, the oldest existing private school offering secondary and tertiary education in Negros, is celebrating its 91st Foundation Day on March 12, a press release from the alumni association said.
To mark the occasion, the LCC College Alumni Association, in cooperation with the different high school batches and our on-line networks (LCCians of the World, http://lccians.ning.com and Bacolod LCCians in Facebook), is sponsoring a 91st Birthday Party entitled “LCC Goes International.”
The alumni have been asked to come in country costumes befitting the theme. At the get-together, 31 people will be recognized “LCCian Gid,” the press release said.
Every five years, the school gives outstanding Alumni Awards to from five to 10 alumni. The College Alumni Association, instead of conducting a search for a handful of outstanding alumni, called for nominations for 91 “LCCian Gid” Awardees, one for each year of LCC’s existence, the press release said.
Anybody who has been a student, alumnus, faculty, staff, employee or religious of LCC may be nominated even if he/she did not graduate in LCC.
A person may be nominated in any of five categories: Family, Academe, Public Service, Private Sector, and Religious, the press release said.
The call for nominations says that of the 91 who are nominated, the top two for each of the five categories will be given special awards. The organizing committee has also decided to recognize all 31 nominated. The deadline for submission of nominations was March 5, the press release added.*
