Night High School Scholarship
Rationale:

Due to the massive poverty in our country, the increasing marginalization of the poor is evident, which contributes to the ever-increasing rate of the out-of-school youth. Lack of opportunity to acquire formal education, easily drags these out-of-school youth to be delinquent members of the society.

While this particular problem keeps on increasing every year, there is a pressing need for a catholic institution like LCC Bacolod to respond to the call of evangelization. True to her commitment of serving the poor people of Negros, LCC Bacolod humbly offers the Free Night High School.

Objectives:

  1. To provide free secondary education to the disadvantaged youth of Bacolod City and Negros Occidental.
  2. To bring to the less privileged the Good News of salvation through formal secondary education.
  3. To prepare the children of depressed families for their role as responsible Christian citizens of the province and of the nation.
  4. To form the students according to the national goals of education and to the image of being persons for others

Components:

  1. Referral and Action Center. CGI will serve as a center for action on any environment-related issues inside the school and even in the province, where it should be necessary. It will be a venue to receive incoming reports concerning environment-unfriendly practices in the campus, which will be referred as soon as possible to the concerned office or department for prompt and appropriate action.
  2. Advocacy. The Center will take an active role in advocating environmental awareness, protection and conservation through all facets of curricular and co-curricular activities.
  3. Networking and Information Center. CGI will serve as center of secondary source of relevant environment information and hub for reference networking within the institution. It will collect latest data, facts and figures and documents that will offer significant contributions to the programs of the school.
  4. Curriculum Integration. The Center will act as another venue to integrate activities that pertain to the promotion of environmental protection in the mainstream of the curriculum.
