Speech and Science Laboratories
Vision/Mission 

LCCB Science Laboratory envisions the development of skills, potentials and capabilities, values and attitudes of students, personnel and affiliates for national and global competencies through the modernization of its facilities and unwavering service of its staff; thus, providing relevant and effective technical and scientific support, training and assistance.

 

Goals and Objectives 

1. To familiarize and acquaint the speech & science instructors/teachers and students with the laboratory holdings and facilities available in support of speech & science instructions.

2. To provide teachers and students with explicit guides and regulations on the proper use of the laboratory facilities and on laboratory operations through a yearly orientation.

3. To encourage and develop students’ interests in scientific investigations to help them develop the skills towards successful life.

4. To provide relevant and effective technical and scientific support to various science courses through the acquisition of updated equipment and other scientific materials/apparatus as well as improve and maintain laboratory rooms and other facilities.

5. To foster learning by doing thereby developing scientific inquiry, attitudes and resourcefulness.

6. To update and acquire materials and equipment in line with the requirements and demands of the speech and science curricula and the needs of the teachers and students.

7. To cooperate with the instructional and administrative personnel for the improvement of instruction and the institution in general.

Policies/Guidelines/Procedures

 

A.  General Policies and Guidelines.   
 
1. The laboratory rooms are exclusively for laboratory classes only.
2. The Laboratory (Head and Staff) should be provided   with schedule    of laboratory classes by the respective speech & science teachers.

3. Booking(s) for the use of the laboratory facility and material(s) should be done at least two or three days before its scheduled use. Instant or a day before bookings may or may not be entertained and in which case, a violation will be filed on record.

4. Laboratory equipment and apparatus should not be brought outside the laboratory premises without permission from the laboratory Head and/or staff.

5. The individual or group responsible for the damages or breakages of any apparatus will be held liable for the replacement of the apparatus or its equivalent. 

6. Clearance will be issued to those students who have no standing obligations at the end of the semester (college) or academic year (Integrated school). 

7. Any damages or breakages must be reported at once to the laboratory staff and has to be replaced within a month.

8. Eating is strictly prohibited inside the laboratories.

9. Students are allowed to stay inside the laboratory during the scheduled use of the facility with the presence of the teacher or authorized personnel.

 

B. Service/Booking Procedures
  
1. Ask for a booking form from the laboratory staff at the Science Laboratory Service Area. 
 
2. Fill up the form properly indicating all the materials needed (if any) and bearing the appropriate signatories. 
 
3. Submit the form to the attending staff. 
 
4. Laboratory staff make final posting of the booking.
